amissbennet: (pleasant day (pride & prejudice))

I am to understand that the writings here correspond to others in this county, and that by writing within I am also sharing my words with others. I dare say it brings to mind the sort of chance acquaintance that I might dream of and that my mother would find absolutely nonsensical. What better way to hear the news of town? And yet, also, what better way to be known by strangers and to chance that the wrong sort of person might come to know you? I feel as though I have inherited a small fortune, that so many people should know so much about me.

Though I have become somewhat acquainted with my residence here, I must admit that I had not expected to be aboard a ship such as this, or to find my room in such familiarity. I do hope you will forgive my candor. My name is Miss Elizabeth Bennet and I am quite at my leisure to meet any person who should desire to call upon me.

Oh, Mr Darcy.

I mean, I asked for Jane Eyre, but this is close enough. Very impressive, Barge, very.

lolz. have fun with it!

I beg your pardon? Does the gentleman know Mr. Darcy? I am afraid I have not yet made acquaintance with any Eyres and therefore cannot possibly know of which Jane you speak.

I might also mention, sir, that to make such remarks without introduction could be considered terribly rude.

Oh...sort of. Here and there. In passing. How is the miserable git?

I've never really been considered polite.

I feel that I must inquire as to your name before I continue to become so intimately acquainted with you. After all, how do I know the gentleman is not a relation of or close to our dear Mr Darcy?

The 'gentleman' most certainly is not. I always thought he was bit of an annoying tosser, really.

Besides, this is more fun anonymously.

I am afraid all that I can make of your character is that you are entirely without decorum.

Well, I've never been so flattered in my entire life.
